Choi Byung-mo joins cast of ‘Afternoon Love Affairs’

On March 28, actor Choi Byung-mo‘s agency C9 Entertainment confirmed that he had accepted a role in Channel A’s Afternoon Love Affairs.

A remake of the critically-acclaimed Japanese drama Hirugao: Love Affairs In The Afternoon, the new drama is all about extra-marital affairs and adults who embark on the forbidden relationships out of boredom and end up suffering greatly.

Choi Byung-mo (Spring Turns To Spring) is set to play Lee Young-jae. He is the owner of a huge publishing company and produces several best-selling novels. On the surface, he seems to have it all, including a successful business and a picture-perfect family. Over time, however, his personal life falls apart due to his wife’s affair.

Park Ha-sun (Drinking Solo) and Lee Sang-yeob (While You Were Sleeping) are already confirmed for the lead roles. Park will play the role of Son Ji-eun, a quiet woman who relocates to a small town, while Lee will portray the role of Yoon Jeong-woo, a biology teacher at an alternative school. They meet unexpectedly and begin a forbidden relationship.

Earlier this month, Ye Ji-won and Jo Donghyuk also joined the cast of the show. Ye (Should We Kiss First) will be essaying the role of Choi Soo-ah, Lee Young-jae’s wife and a mother with two kids. She comes across as the perfect housewife but harbors a dark secret. Her life takes a shocking turn when she meets Do Ha-yoon, a brooding artist played by Jo Dong-hyuk (Bad Guys). The two become unexpectedly close and begin an illicit relationship.

Afternoon Love Affairs will be helmed by Kim Jung-min, who directed Squad 38 (2016), and is aiming for broadcast in the first half of the year.
