Choi Jin-hyuk, Son Hyun-joo confirm lead roles in ‘Justice’

On March 26, actors Choi Jin-hyuk and Son Hyun-joo confirmed that they have taken on the lead roles in a new KBS2 drama titled Justice.

Choi, who was last seen alongside Jang Na-ra in SBS’ The Last Empress, will be seen attempting a completely different role in this revenge drama. He will play Lawyer Lee Tae-kyung. Years ago, he promised to avenge his sister and joined hands with Song Woo-young, a CEO of a mid-sized construction company. Over the years, Lee has fought the cases of criminals from high-profile families to get them acquitted or on probation, developing the highest win rate in the country. His focus shifts from revenge to profits.

Son Hyun-joo (Criminal Minds) will play the character of Song, a man known as the devil who will stop at nothing in the face of his greed. Song gathers significant power and money in a short time thanks to Lee, who helps him cover up his crimes and rise to the top.

While investigating a case about actresses going missing, Lee comes into conflict with Song. Since the drama is set in the world of South Korea’s VVIP families, it will also provide social commentary on their ways of life vis-a-vis money, crimes, greed, and power.

Meanwhile, Nana (Kill It) is in talks to play the love interest of Lee Tae-kyung.

Justice is an adaptation of a 2017 web novel of the same name. It will be written by Jung Chan-mi of the School 2017 fame and helmed by Jo woong. The show is aiming for a July premiere.
