On March 29, JTBC’s upcoming political drama Aide released the photos taken during its first script reading session which took place on March 26.
Lead actors Lee Jung-jae and Shin Min-ah attended the event, along with director Kwak Jung-hwan (Miss Hammurabi), screenwriter Lee Dae-il (Life On Mars), supporting cast members Lee Elijah, Kim Dong-joon, Jung Jin-young, Jung Woong-in, Kim Kap-soo, Lim Won-hee, Kim Eung-soo, Lee Chul-min, Do Eun-bi, and Jeon Jin-ki.
During the table read, PD Kwak said, “I do not believe that it only takes a director and a screenwriter to finish a drama. I hope we can share many ideas that we can put into the drama to create a better experience for our viewers.”
Aide is Lee Jung-jae’s (Triple) first drama in ten years, so a lot of his fans are anticipating his return to the small screen. He will be playing the role of Jang Tae-joon, a political aide or advisor to a congressman (played by Kim Kap-soo). As a graduate from a police academy and a former criminal investigator, Jang will find a balance between intuition and judgment as he does his work. Despite his successful career in the National Assembly, he will seek a higher position in Korea’s political landscape.
Meanwhile, Shin Min-ah (Tomorrow With You) will play Kang Sun-young, a first-time congresswoman and representative of a political party. She used to be a news program host, but she becomes a politician in the hope that she could break ground in the legislative institution with her fresh ideals.
Aide will premiere in May, following the conclusion of Beautiful World.
