The actor previously acted in “My ID is Gangnam Beauty“, “My Strange Hero“, and “Never Twice“. With his cameo in “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay”, he proved one more time his consistency in delivering quality acting.

In the cameo, he is acting as Kwon KiDo the son of an assemblyman who has a manic disorder and who exposes himself. Kwak DongYeon had a lot of exposure scenes to portray the character’s mental disease. Have a look at the GIFs to have a better understanding of his performance.
Here, he made a bright entrance to the mental hospital.
Lying on his hospital bed, he is interacting with the caregiver (Kim SooHyun) and told him the time he went to a club. It was actually all a hallucination.
A while later, he managed to escape from the hospital, and at the parking, he flashed Seo YeJi with his naked body.
And he ended up having fun while ridding her car at high speed.
Kwak DongYeon had a lot of exposure scenes in his cameo and here are some examples.
In addition to giving the spotlight to Kwon KiDo’s disease, the drama added on with the perception of his family on his condition. The character had an emotional speech on how he was not accepted by his family and how they tried to hide and locked him up him because he was an “embarrassment”.
When Kwon KiDo managed to arrive at the place where his father was running a campaign for the upcoming election and had this speech:
“As you can see, I’m mentally ill. I’m the ugly duckling of the family. I’m the embarrassment of our family. … I was the only stupid one in my family. But that’s not my fault. I was just born a little dumb. But he hit me because I didn’t get good grades. He looked down on me because I couldn’t understand properly. He locked me up for causing trouble. I mean, I’m also his child. But he treated me like I was invisible.” (Netflix translation).
The actor made one more time impact on viewers with his stunning acting abilities. Kwak DongYeon is for sure an underrated actor compared to his amazing acting. We are hoping to see him in a K-Drama as lead soon.
