Mnet and Japanese entertainment agency Yoshimoto Kogyo announced on April 11th that the two agencies will be forming a partnership and launching ‘Produce 101 Japan’ during a press conference in Tokyo.
According to reports, ‘Produce 101 Japan’ will be pretty much identical to the original ‘Produce 101’ survival program series in South Korea, only the former will obviously have Japanese idol trainees competing. During the press conference, the spokesperson for both agencies called for idols to submit their applications soon, as the boy group formed through ‘Produce 101 Japan’ is scheduled to debut some time in 2020.
In addition, Japanese comedy duo Ninety-Nine is reportedly the hosts of the upcoming survival program.
