On July 24, OCN dropped another video teaser from Im Si-wan and Lee Dong-wook‘s upcoming drama Strangers From Hell.
Also known as Hell Is Other People, the new thriller is based on a popular webtoon and tells the story of Yoon Jong-woo, a 20-something aspiring writer who moves to Seoul for a job and decides to stay in the rundown Eden Dormitory to save money. The ordinary looking dormitory, however, hides many secrets in the form of its residents which, Jong-woo soon learns, are anything but ordinary. The show is Im Si-wan’s (The King Loves) drama comeback after being discharged from the army in March and also stars Lee Dong-wook (Touch Your Heart), award-winning actress Lee Jung-eun (The Light In Your Eyes), and rookie actress Kim Ji-eun.
In the teaser, Si-wan is shown arriving at the dormitory. He stops by his landlady’s room who welcomes him in a friendly tone and hands him the keys, but something about her is unsettling. Si-wan gets a glimpse into each resident’s room as he makes his way to his room, and all of them seem to be up to something shady. As Si-wan closes the door behind him with a nervous gulp, the landlady and residents ominously peek from their doors and the caption reads: “We invite you to the dormitory from hell.”
Previously, OCN released the first still images from the sets of the drama, giving a glimpse into Si-wan’s arrival at the dormitory. He sports cautious but confused expression in the stills, same as the video teaser, making fans guess as to what surprises awaits him in the seemingly spooky dormitory.
Strangers From Hell will premiere on August 31, following Seo Kang-joon’s Watcher. It is helmed by first-time drama PD Lee Chang-hee, who directed the 2018 movie The Vanished.
