Singapore-based K-PLUS to broadcast ‘Graceful Family’ in Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia

MBN’s newest drama Graceful Family will be broadcast in the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia 22 hours after its original telecast in South Korea. Viewers from the three countries can watch the series on cable TV channel K-PLUS.

Graceful Family is a Wednesday-Thursday drama that will premiere tonight on MBN at 11:00 p.m. Korean Standard Time. Starting August 22, it will be simulcast on K-PLUS in the said countries every Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m. (local time) in the Philippines and Malaysia and 7 p.m. in Indonesia. Each episode of the series will have English, Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, and Bahasa Indonesia subtitles available for the viewers.

The drama will also have an encore telecast on K-PLUS every Sunday at 10:30 p.m. (local time) in the Philippines and Malaysia and 9:30 p.m. in Indonesia beginning August 25.

Graceful Family is a suspense romance drama which centers on unruly heiress Mo Seok-hee, played by Im Soo-hyang (My ID Is Gangnam Beauty), who secretly investigates the murder of her mother 15 years ago. As the only child of a family that runs the large company MC Group, she comes across as a conceited and strong woman. Unknown to many, however, she is deeply suffering from the pain inflicted on her by her mother’s death. She has decided to live abroad after the incident and upon her return, sets out to uncover the truth behind the murder and take revenge against the real culprit.

Lee Jang-woo (My Only One) plays the male lead character named Heo Yoon-do, an ordinary lawyer who does not even have his own office. He spends most of his time helping people in his neighborhood sort out their trivial problems but his life takes a U-turn when he gets a job offer from MC Group. He is headhunted to join the company’s TOP Team, an elite group of individuals tasked with managing the affairs of Mo Seok-hee’s family. Part of his job is to cover up for her family when they get into trouble that would damage the company’s performance and reputation. And that job becomes more complicated when he teams up with Seok-hee to investigate her mother’s murder case.

Veteran actress Bae Jong-ok (Designated Survivor: 60 Days) rounds out the main cast of the series. She will be seen portraying the character of Han Je-kook, the head of the TOP Team who knows every detail about MC Group’s owner. She appears nothing more than a loyal and dedicated employee of the company but the truth is, she is so powerful and influential that the company’s CEO and directors often end up following her lead.

Graceful Family is directed by Han Chul-soo of My Little Baby (2016) and written by Kwon Min-soo of The Blade and Petal (2013). It is produced by Samhwa Networks, the production company behind hit dramas like The Fiery Priest (2019), Where Stars Land (2018), Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim (2016), and Gu Family Book (2013).

MBN is one of the lesser-known South Korean cable channels that broadcast Korean dramas. Graceful Family is the network’s third series this year, following Level Up and Best Chicken. In 2018, the channel broadcast four series, namely Love Alert, Develish Charm, Witch’s Love, and Rich Man.

Meanwhile, K-PLUS is a Singapore-based pay TV channel that airs exclusive Korean entertainment shows in the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia—three of the biggest markets for Korean entertainment content. It is available on USEETV IndiHome and DENSTV in Indonesia; Astro GO in Malaysia; and Easy TV and SKY Cable in the Philippines.
